Attendance

Parents/caregivers are responsible for ensuring that their children arrive at school by 8:30am.

 Takaanini School appreciates those who:

• • • • • Notify school immediately of absence or lateness

        • arrange appointments and trips outside school hours or during school holidays

Takaanini School will contact you to support better attendance when:

• • • • a student is absent at any time without an explanation from whaanau.

      • a student is absent for more than 5 days per term 

      • a student is late to school more than 3 times in one week.

Please note:

• • • • • Absence due to poor weather is not a justified absence

        • Unspecified ‘family matters’ will be considered an unjustified absence.

        • Do not miss a day of school if your child does not have correct uniform

The Ministry mandates that all students attend school every day unless:

• • • • • Bereavement of a close family member

        • Court or legal proceedings

        • Illness or a medical appointment
